Terms and Conditions

On behalf of the customer and on their instructions, Roadlink FZCO pays the Dartford Crossing charge into the official Dart Charge system through dartfordtoll.co.uk; the service starts immediately after payment and is completed within 60 minutes at the latest.

1. Introduction and scope

These Terms and Conditions apply to the use of dartfordtoll.co.uk and of every domain and subdomain (e.g. dartford.evignet24.eu) on which the service is available.

Completing an order by payment constitutes acceptance of these Terms. Acceptance is given on the checkout page by ticking mandatory checkboxes; none of them is pre-ticked.

2. Operator details

  • Company name: Roadlink FZCO

  • Registered office: Building A1, Dubai Digital Park, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai, United Arab Emirates; premises number: 58309-001

  • Company registration number: 55893; licence number: 58309

  • Customer service: [email protected]

  • Hosting provider: Tárhely.Eu Szolgáltató Kft., 1144 Budapest, Ormánság utca 4. X. em. 241., Hungary, [email protected]

Hereinafter: the operator.

3. Status of the operator

The operator is an independent private service provider. It is not a government body or an authority, it is not the official Dart Charge website, and it is not affiliated with Dart Charge, National Highways or the UK Government.

The Dartford Crossing charge can also be paid directly, without a service fee, on the official gov.uk website.

4. Content of the service

On behalf of the customer and using the data provided by the customer, the operator pays the charge for the ordered number of crossings into the official Dart Charge system (hereinafter: registration). The service consists solely of this registration; it does not include any additional service (replacement guarantee, penalty handling, SMS notification).

The service can be used for crossings already made (today or yesterday) and for future crossings. Payments for future crossings are allocated by the official system, under its own rules, to the vehicle's next chargeable crossings.

The operator does not check the relationship between the customer and the vehicle; anyone may place an order.

5. Placing an order

The customer provides: the vehicle's number plate and country of registration, the vehicle category, for UK number plates where necessary the vehicle's make, model and colour, whether it is a rental vehicle, the number of crossings and the time of day, and their email address. If an invoice is requested, the billing details as well.

Before the order is completed, the summary page shows the data provided and the full amount payable. The “Pay now” button becomes active only after the mandatory checkboxes have been ticked.

Crossings between 22:00 and 06:00 (UK time) are free of charge; the system does not accept orders for such crossings. Crossing by motorcycle is free of charge, so no order can be placed for it either.

6. Price and payment

The total price consists of the official crossing charge and the operator's service fee. The total shown on the summary page includes all fees and taxes; no further costs arise after payment. There is no subscription or recurring charge.

Payment can be made in pounds sterling (GBP) or euros (EUR). The system pre-selects the currency based on the visitor's location; the customer can change it in the website footer. When paying in euros, the official charge is converted at the exchange rate set by the operator, and the official charge in pounds is shown in brackets.

Payments are processed by the payment service provider Stripe. The total amount and the currency are shown again on the payment page.

7. Performance of the service

After successful payment, the operator starts the registration without delay and completes it within 60 minutes at the latest. The customer receives a confirmation of the payment immediately and a separate email once the registration has been completed.

The service is fully performed when the crossing charge has been paid into the official Dart Charge system and the operator has sent a confirmation of this.

The official payment deadline is midnight (UK time) on the day after the crossing. It is the customer's responsibility to place the order so that the 60-minute performance time falls within this deadline. For orders placed after the deadline, the official system may not allocate the payment to a crossing already made.

If the registration cannot be completed for reasons beyond the operator's control (e.g. an outage of the official system), the operator refunds the full amount paid to the original payment method.

For each order, the system logs with a timestamp the ticking of the checkboxes and the total amount and currency displayed.

8. Proof of payment

After performance, the customer receives by email a link to download the proof of payment (receipt, or invoice on request). The document is issued by the operator's invoicing system. Its tax content follows the legislation applicable to the service.

9. Customer's responsibility

The customer is responsible for the accuracy of the data provided (in particular the number plate, the country of registration and the vehicle category). The operator is not liable for a registration completed with incorrect data or for any resulting penalty.

For rental vehicles, some rental companies pay the charge themselves. It is the customer's responsibility to clarify this with the rental company; the operator does not refund any fee because of a resulting double payment.

The operator does not check whether a payment has already been made for the crossing in question (for example from the customer's Dart Charge account). It is not liable for damage resulting from double payment.

The service does not settle a penalty already issued (Penalty Charge Notice); the customer must settle it directly with the official body.

10. Right of withdrawal and cancellation

As a general rule, a consumer has a 14-day right of withdrawal or cancellation for contracts concluded at a distance.

Before completing the order, the customer expressly requests, by ticking a separate checkbox, that performance begins immediately after payment, and acknowledges that they lose their right of cancellation once the service has been fully performed, i.e. once the crossing charge has been paid into the official system (Directive 2011/83/EU, Article 16 a); for customers in the United Kingdom, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013).

Until full performance, the customer may cancel the contract. In that case the operator is entitled to a fee proportionate to the service performed up to the cancellation and refunds the remaining amount within 14 days. After performance no refund is possible, including for future, unused crossings.

Model cancellation form (complete and return only if you wish to withdraw from or cancel the contract):

To: Roadlink FZCO, Building A1, Dubai Digital Park, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, [email protected]

I hereby give notice that I cancel my contract for the provision of the following service: ……… Order reference / number plate: ……… Date of contract: ……… Name: ……… Address: ……… Date: ………

11. Contact and complaints

The operator's customer service can be reached at [email protected]. Please include the number plate and the time of the order in your message. There is no telephone customer service. Every enquiry receives a substantive written reply within 24 hours at the latest.

The operator investigates complaints and informs the customer of its decision in writing, with reasons. If the dispute is not resolved, the customer may turn to the consumer protection authority or alternative dispute resolution body of their country of residence. Consumers in the European Union can get free help from the European Consumer Centres Network (ECC-Net); consumers in the United Kingdom can contact Citizens Advice.

12. Chargebacks

In case of a dispute we recommend that the customer first contact customer service; this does not limit the right to turn to the card issuer, an authority or a court. In chargeback proceedings the operator responds with the order data, the logged checkboxes, the confirmations sent and proof of performance. No separate fee is charged to the customer for initiating a chargeback.

13. Operator's liability

Only the operator of the Dart Charge system decides on the official allocation of the crossing charge. The operator is not liable if the official system processes the payment late or is temporarily unavailable; in such cases the refund under Section 7 applies.

This limitation of liability does not affect liability for intentional or grossly negligent damage, or for breach of contract causing harm to life, physical integrity or health.

14. Miscellaneous

The operator may amend these Terms unilaterally; amendments apply only to orders placed after publication.

These Terms are available in English and Hungarian. In questions of interpretation, the English version prevails.

The contract is governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates. This does not deprive the consumer of the protection of the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country of their habitual residence (in the European Union: Regulation (EC) No 593/2008, Rome I, Article 6), and the consumer may also bring proceedings before the courts of their country of residence.

Applicable legislation for consumers in the European Union and the United Kingdom: Directive 2011/83/EU; Directive 2000/31/EC; Directive 2005/29/EC; Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR); the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015; the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013; the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
